WHAT IS GRAPHIC RECORDING?
Big, Bold, Visual Notetaking!
Capture the essence and energy of your event via large-scale illustration
Graphic recording increases participation and engagement, adding clarity as conversation is organized visually. Use as a springboard for brainstorming and creative problem solving, or simply create a memorable experience for everyone in the room.
Graphic recording is particularly useful for workshops and retreats where participants’ feedback, ideas, and opinions are valued.
- Focus your team with a visual record of progress
- Stimulate ideas and increase retention
- Use visual thinking to build consensus; by seeing the same visual cues participants can be united in a larger vision
- Easily share progress outside the meeting as an image or video
David is also available to work remotely, live-streaming graphic recording for your event in tandem with speaker presentations.

GRAPHIC RECORDING TIME-LAPSE
Illuminate Your Next Event
with a Graphic Facilitator
David works with permanent marker on 4’ tall paper banners that can be unrolled to any width. He can serve as a graphic recorder or graphic facilitator, depending on whether you have a facilitator or host already for your event. Here’s a quick definition to distinguish these two terms:
- Graphic Recorder David takes the role of a silent partner illustrating the conversation during the event while someone else leads. This is often used for conferences and large gatherings where the finished artwork commemorates the experience.
- Graphic Facilitator David creates an outline based on your objectives and will lead the meeting in a room of 20 or fewer people. The artwork created is a means to reach specific outcomes and supports big-picture thinking that is required for strategy, visioning, and organizational change.
Afterwards the finished banners are often displayed in public spaces to celebrate the collaborative effort and all participants receive digital files of the artwork.
